#1 Hains Point/East Potomac Park for Kwanzan Cherry Blossoms

Hains Point is known for its pink cherry blossom tunnel, but beware: a lot of editing is required to make the tunnel a reality. We still prefer Tidal Basin for more accessible and realistic shots with the lake.

#2 Tidal Basin

Thomas Jefferson Memorial Cherry Blossoms

Tidal Basin is popular for the Yoshino cherry blossoms. You’ll also get amazing views of the Jefferson and Washington Monuments as you walk around the lake.

The best time to see cherry blossom along Tidal Basin is during the week. Weekends during peak bloom are very crowded.

Established in 1807, the Congressional Cemetery is a historic 35-acre, active burial ground in Washington, D.C.

Located on Capitol Hill, it is owned by Christ Church and renowned for holding the remains of over 60,000 people, including many early members of Congress, Native American diplomats, and notable figures.

Many 19th-century members of Congress who died in office were buried here, often marked by unique, uniform sandstone cenotaphs designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe.

It features a popular off-leash dog-walking program and serves as a community space.
